I’m absolutely in love with the food in Singapore. My favorite is the roast duck. They serve it with steaming rice, greens and this delicious soup-broth-sauce thing. My next favorite would be the hot spicy seafood filled laksa. Oh dear Zeus. Just thinking about it is making my mouth water. I get it in a place called Bugis, the Singaporean hawker center.
The best and I meant the AB-SO-LUTE best Singaporean restaurant in Manila is this place called Bugis. And true to its name they serve authentic Singaporean food. And at a very affordable price! It is sad though because they don’t serve roast duck here. It doesn’t matter, though, because they serve the best Laksa in Manila.
I’ve taken people who don’t like spicy flavors and made them taste this Laksa and they approve! It’s that tasty delicious scrumptious dish!
If you’re going to eat here, I’d recommend a few dishes. One is their Laksa, duh. You can have up to 3 cups of refills of their soup base. Trust me, if you’re anything like me, you’ll be using that. It’s also good for at least 2 people so prepare to share! You can even request to have your Laksa mild or extremely spicy.
Second dish I’d recommend is their Hainanese chicken. It just goes really well with the Laksa. Because of its simple flavor, it balances out the strong kicking flavor of laksa. It makes it less nakakaumay. Personally though, I don’t get umay from Laksa.
Third is another chicken dish! Their Lemon Chicken is pretty good. It isn’t as good as the other two, in my opinion, but it does hold its own, taste wise!
If you want snacks, just get their numnums. Numnums is what they call their tusok-tusok. And their numnums make you go omnomnom with happiness.
Bugis is located at 78 N. Roxas Street, Santo Domingo, Banawe, Quezon City.
They’re open from 10am until 10pm
